Our dear friend and colleague Shawn Allee is leaving WBEZ for The Environment Report (fortunately you’ll still be able to hear his reports from time to time on our airwaves). As News Editor I’ve worked with Shawn nearly everyday for the last two years. Today is his last day. We celebrated with an eight pie good-bye at 1pm today in the City Room. As you may know, many of Shawn’s stories focused on environmental issues, and many of those focused on less-than-pristine angles. We will miss how he coolly explains the ins-and-outs of that beat.
