Protesters and pastors weigh in on proposed CPS closings
Chicago Public Schools will hold hearings just about every night this week on a slate of schools the district wants to close or phase out. School closings are controversial every year. And this year has been no different--but there have been some new twists to the controversy. WBEZ’s education reporter Linda Lutton and Sarah Karp—deputy editor of Catalyst Chicago joined Eight Forty-Eight to fill listeners in on recent developments. And Pastor Christopher Harris, chairman of the Bronzeville Community Action Coucil, told Eight Forty-Eight why he believes there should be a moratorium on school closings.
