Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is still showing no signs of support toward a bill to expand gambling.
The bill approved by the Senate last week could add five new casinos, including one in Chicago. But Quinn said he doesn’t think the bill will get through the House of Representatives.
“I wouldn’t hold your breath,” he said. “It’s pretty top-heavy. Illinois’ not going to be the Midwest venue for gambling second only to Las Vegas.”
The House will likely take up the bill before Jan. 12, when new members are sworn in.
