Rachel Dratch on her life after 'SNL'

Remember Rachel Dratch? If the answer is no, “Debbie Downer” might ring a bell…

Dratch spent seven seasons with Saturday Night Live, but we haven’t seen a whole lot of her since then. She was slated to play the role of “Jenna” on pal Tina Fey’s 30 Rock, but after the pilot was shot, the nature of the role changed and it went to Jane Krakowski instead. In her new book, Girl Walks into a Bar...Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle, Dratch explains that the roles she’s had access to since SNL have been limited.

Of course, before heading off to New York City to work for SNL, Dratch got her start right here in Chicago. In fact, she received two Joseph Jefferson Awards for Best Actress for her work in Paradigm Lost and Promise Keepers, Losers, Weepers.  She returned to the Windy City this weekend to promote her new book. But don't worry if you missed her. She joins Steve Edwards on Monday's Afternoon Shift before her performance at UP Comedy Club.
