There have been some fantastic global releases throughout 2011 and as usual host Tony Sarabia got lots of help form Peter Margasak in bringing those sounds to your ears.

Every third Friday of the month Chicago Reader music writer Peter Margasak stops by with a stack of new releases and we’ve come to the final New Sounds of 2011. This month Peter’s got some classic cumbia, Norwegian hardanger fiddle music, and a new release from Brazil’s Marisa Monte.  Next month, Tony and Peter will spend the whole show playing some of their favorites from this year.
