As of tomorrow, Illinois lawmakers have eight days to pass a budget before adjourning. 

Illinois has gone 327 days without a budget, and many services, like Medicaid, are being funded through court orders.

Governor Bruce Rauner says a grand bargain is on the way—that’s got human service providers nervous about potential cuts. 

Pat Comstock, of the Health Care Council of Illinois, says nursing homes are especially vulnerable to the effects of Medicaid cuts.

Last year, 3.2 million people were covered under Medicaid in Illinois, and almost 200,000 of them were seniors.
