Back by special request of UIC Chancellor Paula Allen-Meares, Mari Gallagher presents “From Food Desert to Food Oasis: The Next Five Years.” Learn about her cutting edge work around the country and in Chicago, including her most recent research into how food stamp retailers effect public health and economic development. Mari Gallagher is the recipient of the 2009 University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Alumni Association’s City Partner Award for “outstanding contributions to the vitality of the Chicago Metropolitan Area” and remains active in the UIC community.
