In America, where the legal separation fo Church and State is quite clearly defined, many would argue for example, that the “religious right” has tremendous influence over the outcome of elections. On the other hand, in Germany those same boundaries are not set in stone yet the Church tends to take a more hands-off approach to politics. Can and should religion be separated from political life?  

Bishop Wolfgang Huber is Bishop and Leader of the EKD (Protestant Church of Germany) and Dr. Amy Black is Professor of Politics and International Relations at Wheaton College.  This event is moderated by Judith Valente, Journalist, essayist and poet.
