The Democratic primary for Cook County State’s Attorney was one of the most closely watched races in the state last week. Kim Foxx beat incumbent Anita Alvarez. But almost no attention was paid to her Republican challenger, attorney Christopher Pfannkuche -- and he got even less financial support. Of the 1.5 million residents who voted in last week’s primary, just 300,000 pulled Republican ballots. And about a third of those voters didn’t vote for Pfannkuche. The former prosecutor said people are “fed up” with the way the State’s Attorney’s office has been run, and says so long as it remains under Democratic control, it will be “business as usual.”
