Zeina Durra’s parents wanted her to leave New York City after 9/11. But the London-born director of Middle Eastern and Bosnian decent decided to stay. Many of Durra’s experiences living in post-9/11 New York City are reflected in her first feature-length film, The Imperialists Are Still Alive!

The film screens Friday-Thursday at Facets Cinémathèque. Film critic Jonathan Miller had this review of the film.
