Riot Fest Neighbor: 'It’s Decent, Quiet, Everybody Enjoys The Music'
Around noon, Manuel Castillo was sipping from a can of Icehouse beer, chatting with neighbors, watching a steady trickle of concert-goers walk past his house on California Avenue, across from the park, about a block from the entrance.
He’s lived there all his life -- 45 years -- and he says Riot Fest has become a fine neighbor.
"It’s decent, quiet," he says. "Everybody enjoys the music."
He says he’ll go hear some music himself later. Residents, he believes, get free tickets; last year he wandered over to hear Snoop Dogg.
