About one in 25 patients in U.S. hospitals gets an infection that can lead to death while getting treated for a different medical condition.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is putting $26 million toward research to prevent drug-resistant superbugs. Rush University and the Cook County Health and Hospitals System is getting a piece of that funding.
