An advisor to former Illinois Governor George Ryan was sentenced to eight months in prison.

Don Udstuen was a key witness in Ryan’s racketeering trial.

Defense attorneys and prosecutors told U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer that Udstuen cooperated with federal investigators.

Udstuen was also sentenced to eight months of home confinement, 400 hours of community service and a fine of 30-thousand dollars.
