Sears To Report Earnings, Close Oldest Store
Sears, the iconic Chicago department store company, is reporting its earnings today. The company has lost money every year since 2013. And its oldest brick-and-mortar store -- on Lawrence Avenue -- is closing.
John Kernan, an analyst with the investment bank Cowen and Company, says this is just one more episode in the company’s demise. The Lawrence Avenue store will close in August. A going-out-of-business sale begins May 19.
