Sears, the iconic Chicago department store company, is reporting its earnings today. The company has lost money every year since 2013. And its oldest brick-and-mortar store — on Lawrence Avenue — is closing.
John Kernan, an analyst with the investment bank Cowen and Company, says this is just one more episode in the company’s demise. The Lawrence Avenue store will close in August. A going-out-of-business sale begins May 19.
