Illinois U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin says he and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham will introduce a measure to temporarily freeze any attempt at deporting undocumented youth who participate in the DACA program. 

DACA is President Obama’s executive measure that gives a temporary reprieve to undocumented individuals who were brought to the U.S. as children. 

Durbin says his legislation would not allow those individuals to be deported under a Trump administration unless Congress fixes immigration policy as a whole. During his presidential campaign, Trump vowed to rescind Obama’s executive orders on immigration.
