Kathleen Rooney was born in Beckley, West Virginia and raised in the Midwest. Along with Abby Beckel, she is a founding editor of Rose Metal Press, and the author of Oneiromance (an epithalamion), winner of the 2007 Gatewood Prize from Switchback Books.

Her first book is Reading with Oprah: the Book Club That Changed America (University of Arkansas, 2005), released in a paperback with new material in Spring 2008. Her second book, That Tiny Insane Voluptuousness, poetry collaborations with Elisa Gabbert, was published by Otoliths Books. Her occupational memoir, Live Nude Girl: My Life as an Object is forthcoming from University of Arkansas Press in 2009, and the essay from which it originated appears in Twentysomething Essays by Twentysomething Writers (Random House, 2006).

Steve Halle published his first book with Cracked Slab Books. It is titled Map of the Hydrogen World. He edits the online site Seven Corners.

Series A is dedicated to showcasing experimental writing in the US and the Midwest through readings, discussion and performance. Organized by Indiana University Northwest Faculty William Allegrezza, this series brings exciting authors to the Art Center to share their work.
