Should more theater artists quit?
A recent Culture Map blog posting contains one of the smartest sentences I've ever read about the difficult work of making art: "Being an artist is not a life sentence." As author Nancy Wozny reviews the nearly omnipresent problem of fatigue among arts-makers, she comes to the reasonable but somehow also shocking conclusion that maybe it's really not worth it and (again, her words) "It's okay to stop."
So, dear readers, what about you? If you're tired--and I can't imagine that you're not--why don't you stop?
