Slow pokes beware: Indiana police are watching. The so called “slow-poke” law allows enforcement to ticket motorists for driving too slow in the passing lane.
Drivers who fail to get out of the way face a fine of up to $500.
In its first year, the Indiana state police issued more than a 100 tickets and 15-hundred warnings to drivers who didn’t budge. Indiana State Police spokesman David Bursten says slow drivers can cause problems.Drivers won’t be ticketed if they’re stuck in traffic or driving in bad weather.
