The groundskeeper at Soldier Field is defending the turf before Sunday’s Bears’ game against the New England Patriots.

Bears’ Quarterback Jay Cutler this week said Soldier Field has one of the worst playing surfaces in the league.

Groundskeeper John Nolan says the field has been re-sodded and is ready for the game.

“You know, it’s Chicago. It’s cold. It rains. It snows,” Nolan said. “Come out here Sunday, it’s supposed to be about 40 mile an hour winds and about 20 degrees. I’m sure they’ll have fun with that.”

Nolan says Soldier Field’s turf is comparable to any other field in the NFL. The head of the company managing Solider Field’s turf says crews re-sod the field at least three times during the football season.
