Republican Illinois State Senator Matt Murphy says the Governor is unclear about his objections to a bill that would expand gambling.

Both the Illinois House and Senate approved the bill earlier this year. It’s been on hold by Senate President John Cullerton, because Governor Pat Quinn hasn’t fully supported the measure.

Murphy says Quinn hasn’t addressed specific objections to the bill.

“Somewhere along the line he’s got to lay his cards on the table and say, ‘I like this, I don’t like this, this is what I want,’” Murphy said at a press conference on Wednesday. “And I think it’s hard for people to get creative, work on a trailer bill until they know what that is.”

A trailer bill would add more legislation to the current bill that’s pending Quinn’s approval, with the aim of addressing some of Quinn’s hesitations.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Quinn said he’s concerned about casino oversight.
