Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble member Yasen Peyankov will read selections from One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich in English and Russian. Mr. Peyankov last appeared onstage at Steppenwolf in Lost Land.

This event is presented as a part of the tenth One Book, One Chicago program presented by the Chicago Public Library. One Book, One Chicago encourages all Chicagoans to read the same book at the same time and to gather together in discussion with friends and neighbors. This year, Chicago and its sister city, Moscow, Russia, join together for the first international One Book, One Chicago, as residents of both cities read and discuss Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.
