The Chicago region remains under a high wind warning until 7:00 Wednesday. Three tornadoes touched down around Chicago Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Gilbert Sebenste is a meteorologist at Northern Illinois University. He said winds could gust up to 50 miles per hour.

“Most of the damage that we’ll see today will be minor, but nevertheless, if you have anything that you don’t want flying into your neighbor’s yard or into your neighbor’s window, such as the grill, then I would strongly suggest that you take it in today,” Sebenste said.

A spokesman for Commonwealth Edison says about 1,300 customers are without power, mostly in Chicago’s northern suburbs.
