Chicago police dispatched SWAT team members near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus Tuesday night, after a pizza delivery man who was robbed said he saw his assailant run into nearby building.

The incident began around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, when someone ordered a pizza from what turned out to be a vacant apartment, according to a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department. When the delivery driver showed up, he was robbed at gunpoint, the spokeswoman said.

The driver told police he saw the robber flee into an adjacent building, prompting police to secure the area and begin searching for him. But police didn’t find anyone, and they left the scene around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday without making any arrests, the spokeswoman said.
