Building Museums as Centers of Civic Engagement is a Chicago Cultural Alliance program composed of a series of community and cross-cultural events in which Chicagoans are invited to discuss topics that matter to our communities. These topics are related to themes such as immigration, health, identity, youth, or environment.

This event is a comparative presentation on how American Indians and Chinese-Americans share a common respect for the human body despite their cultural differences. The groups explore how their respective cultures approach the issue through herbal medicines, natural foods, physical movements, and other cultural traditions.

Recorded Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the American Indian Center of Chicago.
