Members of the national Tea Party movement are making their way through Illinois ahead of a protest next week in Chicago. They’re calling for lower taxes, smaller government and term limits for Illinois lawmakers.

Pediatrician Beth Steh attended a rally in Springfield Monday evening.

She says she usually votes Republican, but has become disillusioned with the GOP.

STEH: “I think incumbents across the board are going to potentially have trouble. So, I think it’s more - for me, it’s more a fact of getting back to some of the basic principles of the Constitution.”

The national Tea Party tour will culminate with protests across the country on Tax Day - April 15th. Tea Partiers’ pick for Illinois Governor, Adam Andrzejeweski, lost in the February Primary.
