The Chicago Teachers Union and Chicago Public Schools have had heated discussions about the role of teachers in public education. In an effort to bring a different tone to the conversation Gapers Block has launched a new feature: Classroom Mechanics: An Oral History Project of Teaching in Chicago.
The project launched in October and is expected to run throughout the winter.
It is the work of Gapers Block political editor Ramsin Canon who joined Eight Forty-Eight to explain the project in detail.
