Mister Annoying (Jim Nayder) says … Unlike many recent music celebrities, the legendary Mitch Miller is still alive and singing at age 98! Mitch Miller, born July 4,1911, was one of the most influential figures in American popular music in the 1950’s and 1960’s. In their hey-day, the sing-a-long albums with “Mitch Miller and the Gang” were “Best Sellers” on a (Michael Jackson-like) pace, equal to Elvis, Sinatra and other acclaimed artists. Mr. Miller and his chorus were never annoying—except once—when they covered John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band’s “Give Peace A Chance,” originally recorded 40 years ago this summer. So in honor of America’s & Mitch Miller’s birthday, “The Annoying Music Show!” presents this classic (and inexplicable) “Mitch Miller and the Gang” recording.
