NWA presents “The Best of JOT: A Year in Review” at the 2011 Printers Row Lit Fest. Throughout the past year, writers have explored various engaging and important topics, such as the environment, “where I’m from,” and food and tradition, as well as the daily experiences of living in Chicago’s neighborhoods.

This performance includes JOT writers from the Albany Park, Bezazian, Hall, King, and Mabel Manning branch libraries, St. Leonard’s House, San Lucas Church of Humboldt Park, and parents from Dumas and Nicholson Technology Academy.

NWA programming represents the richness, complexity, and the diversity of the Chicago arts and literary community. NWA provides ongoing opportunities for adults in Chicago’s underserved neighborhoods to engage in the literary arts through writing workshops, the publication of the Journal of Ordinary Thought (JOT), and readings and events such as the 2011 Printers Row Lit Fest.
