The Bushmen of Botswana
The Bushmen of Southern Africa is an indigenous group of people that has lived in the region for Millennia. But they've been locked in a decades-long battle with the government of Botswana to regain access to water and resources on their ancestral lands.
And in spite of a court victory in 2006 allowing them back on their lands, the Bushmen still find themselves locked in a life-and-death struggle with Botswana's government.
Fiona Watson is Researcher and Field Director for Survival International, an NGO dedicated to protecting the rights of indigenous peoples. And she's spent a lot of time amongst the Bushmen people.
