The Catalyst Chicago High School Summit II featuring Chicago Public Schools (CPS) CEO Arne Duncan and Washington Post Education Reporter Jay Mathews brings together more than 250 students, public policy experts, and education advocates together to discuss, debate, and begin a dialogue to address critical issues facing the school district’s $80 million dollar High School Transformation Plan.

The Summit was co-hosted by the Illinois College Access Network, which held the first High School Summit in 2005 where Mr. Duncan initially presented the High School Transformation Plan.

Featuring a presentation of the citywide data analyses and findings uncovered in Catalyst Chicago’s recently released Report Card on High School Transformation; a keynote talk by award-winning education journalist and columnist Jay Mathews of the Washington Post; Chicago Public Schools CEO Arne Duncan presenting the early progress and lessons learned from High School Transformation Project; and an interactive panel of high school students directly impacted by the transformation plan.

Recorded Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Chase Auditorium.
