Ward Miller and John Vinci lecture on their newly published book, The Complete Architecture of Adler and Sullivan, which documents the extraordinary architecture of Louis Sullivan. Building upon a project started nearly 60 years ago by Aaron Siskind and Richard Nickel, Vinci and Miller have combined a series of essays on the work of Adler and Sullivan, the influence of H. H. Richardson on their work, and the development of the “tall building.” This illustrated lecture explores the rich career of a firm that helped redefine architecture in Chicago and across the country. A book signing will follow.
