Since its founding in 1948, the University of Chicago Hospital’s Comer Service Committee has taken up the mission of helping hospital patients cope with their stay.
That tradition continues with the Comer Children’s Hospital Doll Project. Each month volunteers make about a hundred dolls, which are then distributed to young patients.
Eight Forty-Eight’s Sylvia Ewing recently visited some of the volunteers in Hyde Park and brings us the story.
