The Fake Fictions band members Nick Ammerman and Sarah Johnson came together about four years ago after moving to Chicago from Richmond, Virginia. Their addition of Ben Bilow made it a trio. And then a few years ago, tragedy struck when their practice space burned down with most of their instruments inside. That event inspired their new album, Krakatoa, which contains songs about volcanoes. The Fake Fictions play The Empty Bottle tonight at 9:30.
