We’re excited to report that the first film is on Wednesday, January 28th at the historic Music Box Theatre! WBEZ Reporter Shannon Heffernan will screen the 1931 version of Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi, and moderate a conversation following the film with Eula Biss, a renowned author who has written extensively on immunology by way of vampire films.

If you are a High Fidelity member, you may RSVP to see that film on January 22nd at 10a.m. (or after) by clicking ON THIS LINK. The primary purchaser must be a WBEZ or Cinema/Chicago member. You may reserve up to 4 tickets (and 3 of those may be non-member friends).

From January to June of 2015, in partnership with the Chicago International Film Festival, the WBEZ Live Events team will produce four film screenings for WBEZ High Fidelity and Cinema/Chicago members!

The films will all fit a loose theme of Science and each screening will have a WBEZ reporter or program attached to them, including Shannon Heffernan, Filmspotting, Worldview and the Nerdette podcast. The films and the post-show conversations are co-curated by these reporters and shows along with the Chicago International Film Festival.

Stay tuned to wbez.org/events for more information on future films.
