The first official day of summer is less than a month away (June 20th), but for avid Chicago runners, a different season is here:  training season.  For those who are planning on, or thinking about, running in this year’s Chicago Marathon, this is the week to start training.  We’re joined by Coach Brendan Cournane, a man who’s run dozens of marathons around the world, and trained thousands of runners to make that 26.2 mile journey.

But are you hesitant about running?  Well then the thought of preparing for marathon must scare the daylights out of you.  But fear not, because hitting the pavement in your runnin’ shoes doesn’t need to be intimidating, regardless if you’re skill level, or distance goals.

Couch Brendan joins us with advice for newbie runners and veterans alike.
