This past September, local residents shared their experiences in bringing about positive changes through putting their ideas and a little sweat equity into growing community gardens, linking regional bicycle trails, and raising the roof of a neighborhood health center.  Now, another micro-revolution is brewing among regular folks; this time the recipe calls for parents and school administrators to link efforts to improve public education and encourage community renewal.

The common, active ingredients are channeling concern, commitment and cooperation to strengthen local communities. This event will feature a stimulating conversation with Chicago parents and residents about their collaborations to improve the design and function of their neighborhood schools. Learn how small actions can transform communities and foster a culture of proactive participation and pride.
