Good morning!

Welcome to this edition of the Morning Drive Podcast!  In this episode, we inch closer to the end of the teachers strike - maybe. And the White Sox take the top spot in the AL Central!

Today’s news:

Two minority blocs of aldermen are pressuring the Chicago Teachers Union to end its strike and get back to work.

As the strike by thousands of Chicago public school teachers enters its second week, some city parents are increasingly voicing their frustrations.

The city of Chicago can’t seem to make up its mind whether the teacher’s strike is a threat to public safety or not.

And as always, for up to the minute strike updates, you can follow our education reporters Becky Vevea and Linda Lutton on Twitter here.

And your WEATHER for today:Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of light showers in the afternoon. Breezy, highs in the lower 60s. Some winds, with gusts in the late afternoon up to 30 miles per hour.  Then tonight, mostly clear, lows in the lower 40s except in the upper 40s downtown.

Wednesday should be a little nicer, mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Breezy, highs around 70. Wednesday night, partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers, breezy again with lows in the low 50s except mid 50s downtown.

And music in today’s podcast brought to you again by St. Vincent and David Byrne - the dynamic duo hit the Chicago Theatre tonight.
