French author and literary critic Arno Bertina discusses both his own work, celebrated for its powerful treatment of political and social themes mixed with dazzling linguistics and innovative narrative technique, as well as the state and nature of the contemporary novel in France: the trends, the history, the major figures, the future, the comparisons with American fiction. This program is presented in French.

Arno Bertina, born in 1975, is the prolific and critically acclaimed author of several novels, including Anima motrix (2006), Appoggio (2003) and Le Dehors ou la migration des truites (2001), as well as many essays and collective publications. He is one of the founders and editors of the highly regarded literary and philosophy review Inculte, as well as one of the many contributors to a work on the contemporary French novel, Devenirs du roman, which was widely praised by the French literary world.
