The third and final suspect in the murder of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee is in custody in downstate Illinois.

Officer Jim Bianchetta with the Vermilion County Sheriff said Kevin Edwards, 23, was arrested on Saturday for resisting arrest and possession of a controlled suspect.

Bianchetta said Chicago police were notified because of an outstanding warrant for murder.

But Edwards won’t be transported to Chicago until his charges in Vermilion County - between Champaign and the Indiana border - are resolved.

Corey Morgan and Dwright Boone-Doty are already in custody for the execution of 9-year-old Tyshawn last fall.

Tyshawn’s daytime death shocked his South Side neighborhood, and the rest of the city.

Police say Doty, Morgan and Edwards lured Lee away from a park and shot him as part of an ongoing gang conflict.
