Giving Tuesday, meant to encourage charitable giving after consumers splurge on products during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, may see a boost this year.

President-Elect Donald Trump has promised big policy changes around immigration, health care, law enforcement and climate change. People anxious about those changes are giving to nonprofits that are likely to fight against Trump’s policies.

“This year obviously what we are seeing is a spike in donations to groups that advocate for civil rights, minority populations, women, the environment,” said Timothy Sandoval of The Chronicle of Philanthropy.  “A lot of those groups report they are seeing record-setting levels of donation.”
