On Wednesday, the 27th, Jade Asian Infused in Carol Stream is hosting its grand opening party with complimentary cocktails and food samples.

From 4:30-6:30 p.m., you can sample a complimentary cocktail of choice and passed hors d’oeuvres, such as satay skewers or maki rolls, while listening to live music from Stations. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional Asian dishes as well as pastas, seafood and steak inspired by a combination of Thai, Korean and Japanese flavors.

Also on Wednesday, in honor of Mozart’s birthday, Julius Meinl in Lincoln Park is hosting “A Night in Vienna” prix-fixe dinner with live classical music from musicians with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

For $40 (or $20 for children), you’ll get a three course meal including a variety of traditional Viennese open-faced sandwiches and Taelspitz, a traditional cut of sliver-tip beef that’s simmered with root vegetables and served with a variety of side dishes. Dessert is a no-brainer: Millennium Torte (a flourless chocolate-almond cake) and Apfel Strudel.

If you are a coffee connoisseur, you may know of Julius Meinl for their specialty Viennese coffee, however, their three locations also serve European style sandwiches, baked goods and pastries. Space is limited, so reserve your spot by calling 773-868-1876 opt. 5.
