The University of Illinois at Chicago unveiled a collection of documents from Richard J. Daley’s 20-plus years as Chicago mayor Wednesday night.

The archive includes shelves of papers, memorabilia and more than 7,000 photographs.

It is open to researchers by appointment.

WBEZ’s Richard Steele toured the collection with its archivist, Peggy Glowacki.
