U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan is in Chicago today where he’s been talking about school reform and what the Obama administration wants to see in schools going forward. Duncan spoke before an education advocacy group called Advance Illinois, which earlier this week released a report outlining what it thinks could help reform education. Duncan also today warned that Illinois could lose out on millions of dollars in federal stimulus money if some reforms aren’t set into motion. Nearly three dozen protesters were at the speech, and WBEZ’s education reporter, Linda Lutton, was also there.
