Shaka-sign And hello to you too, boys and girls, and let me tell you more about this glorious, scintillating moment that you have all been waiting for. Yes, team USA had moments of brilliance and spans of mediocrity, and, finally, helped along by unhealthy doses of foolhardy optimism, made it to the second round. What now? No one ever thought about this. We all wondered if the U.S. would make round 2. Now that they are there, where do we set our sights? On the U.S. winning the Cup? On winning the next game? We simply do not know. Well, I am here to tell you - the U.S. will win the next game. It will not be easy. Ghana is a wonderful team. They are very organized and balanced and they have World Cup experience from making it this far 4 four years ago. They can defend and control the midfield, but they have a heck of a problem scoring goals. They have only scored twice so far, off penalty kicks. The U.S., on the other hands, has Landon Donovan, who is an inspirational player having the tournament of a lifetime. Not only is he capable of scoring, he has scored - the clincher in injury time against Algeria. The U.S. also has Tim Howard, the man who lets the Americans play without that sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach that the English are so familiar with. Howard and Donovan, Donovan and Howard. Because of them, the U.S. is riding a mighty wave of momentum. There is so much momentum, team USA is now coming into the tube, ready to hang ten. If you want to set your sights on something, go for the U.S. making the semis. It is a stretch, but it could happen. Prognosis: USA in 6
