By Andrew GillTitus Andronicus is an indie rock band from New Jersey. Of course that hardly scratches the surface with a group that named itself after one of Shakespeare’s minor works and its first album after a Seinfeld joke. In a recent interview with Sound Opinions, Jim DeRogatis mentions this complex juxtaposition only to be shrugged off by frontman Patrick Stickles. To him it’s perfectly natural to write 8 minute long rock songs about the civil war.
In the same session the band performed two songs from their second album, The Monitor. Above they perform “No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future.” Below is “A More Perfect Union.” At the time of this taping guitarist Amy Klein was ill, prompting Stickles to pay tribute to her in electrical tape on his shirt.
