For yesterday’s thread on Vocalo, Brian talked with Adam Schwartz, senior staff counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, about how to talk to cops. Adam’s advice was great (full disclosure: he’s a friend of mine), but I don’t think I’d have the nerve to say these kinds of things to Jack Bauer. First, he said, find out if you really have to talk to them at all.
