IIT Professor Peter Land is revisioning the skyscraper’s form to include the generation of local, low-pollution electricity. One technique he employs is to alter structures to channel wind toward wind turbines. Here, Land explains how the allure of wind energy extends, in part, to his personal background. Land also explains that he traveled to Bahrain recently to catch construction of the world’s first skyscraper with integrated wind turbines.
