The Archdiocese of Chicago has set up a link on its website to send messages to Francis Cardinal George.

Church officials announced last week the Roman Catholic leader had cancerous cells in his liver and kidney.

Cardinal George’s Spokesperson Colleen Dolan said he has received more than 300 messages since the link was created on Tuesday.

“He has many, many friends all over the world and it’s been another opportunity for them to connect with him instantly,” Dolan said.

Cardinal George got similar messages during a battle with cancer six years ago, according to Dolan.

She says the Cardinal is maintaining his schedule and hopes to finish medical testing next week.
