On Wednesday’s Afternoon Shift we devote the entire show to talking about food.

The first hour covers the pending Farm Bill, food politics and low income access to fresh vegetables.

In the second hour we welcome the Tribune‘s Monica Eng and our own Louisa Chu for the 3@3 review panel, both veritable experts in food news.

Then our weekly Curious City segment focuses on where pastry trends (cupcakes, doughnuts, oh my!) come from.

Finally we talk in-depth with Chef Erwin Drechsler, a cornerstone of the Chicago culinary scene who recently decided to close his eponymous restaurant.

All throughout the show this song will be running through my head- hopefully now it’ll be in yours, too.
