Weekend losses

Chances are you've seen the word "Solve" in some unlikely places in the past few years. The tag was 24 year old Brendan Scanlon's street art identity. Scanlon was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art and sought to, in his words, "foster a more positive, productive society" through his creative graffiti. As you may already know, Scanlon was found stabbed to death early Saturday morning. Chicago's street art community is reeling. A memorial has been created on Grand near the intersection of Halsted and Milwaukee. Check it out while its still there or view documentation of Scanlon's work online.
